Try Scuba Diving
The SSI “Try Scuba“ is a great way for you to see why so many people all around the world love to practice diving.
If you want to try the scuba diving equipment in shallow water before you commit your time and money to a full course or try a Discovery Dive, then this is definitely the way to start your experience. The “Introductory Scuba” lasts around 15-30 minutes with a instructor in very shallow water to a maximum depth of 5m.
The total price for this course is €40.
We hold this program every Sunday at Paradise Beach near the harbour.
What’s involved?
When you arrive, you will be briefed by your instructor on how to communicate underwater, what kind of equipment you will use, and how to breath through the equipment. Then, you will be guided through the shallows to experience the zero gravity of Scuba Diving. In the end, we will debrief you on how you did and what you can do from there.
The price for this experience is €40.
What will you learn?
You’ll learn some hand signals to communicate with your instructor while starting to develop good underwater swimming and buoyancy technique.
Prerequisites
In order to participate, you must be at least 10 years old
What’s next?
When finished, you’ll have fallen in love with scuba diving. The next step is to try the SSI ‘Basic Diver’ Program. This will take you to an absolute maximum depth of 12m with some additional training at the beginning to practice some self sufficiency skills.

Discover Scuba Diving Experience
The SSI “Basic Diver“ is a great way for you to see why so many people all around the world love to practice diving.
If you want to try scuba diving before you commit your time and money to a full course, then this is definitely the way to start your experience. The “Basic Diver” lasts over three hours and consists of a private session with an instructor in very shallow water.
The total price for this course is €115 and includes all of the following:
We offer both morning and afternoon trips, so you can fit this around your own holiday schedule.
What’s involved?
When you arrive, you will be briefed by your instructor on how to communicate underwater, how the pressure will affect you, what kind of equipment you will use, and he will also show you some breathing exercises. Then, you will practice these skills in shallow water. In the end, we will debrief you on how you did and what you can do from there.
The price for this experience is €115.
What will you learn?
You’ll learn some basic skills and hand signals to communicate with your instructor while starting to develop good underwater swimming and buoyancy technique.

What’s next?
When finished, you’ll have passed the first portion of the Open Water Course (Scuba Diving License). The certificate you get is valid for the following 12 months and will give you a small reduction on the time it takes to complete the course and discount on its price at our dive center.

Open Water Course
Ever wanted to become a certified diver to have your own license to dive? Not only to be able to dive all around the world but deeper and also at a cheaper price than non-certified divers!
This scuba diving course will give you all the skills necessary to become a certified diver and be able to handle any situation for yourself.
The course takes around three days to be completed.
What’s involved?
The total course consists of 5 mini pool/confined water sessions and 4-6 open water dives, which means you get a great chance to explore all that Symi has to offer under the surface.
There are also 5 small sections of theory that are fairly easy to get through which can be studied with either online materials, videos, or books depending on your preference.
Upon completion, you will be qualified to dive to a depth of 18m with a dive buddy worldwide. The total price for this course is €595.

What’s next?
Once you’ve completed the Open Water Course, you can dive around the world at a much lower cost than non-certified divers, but keep in mind that it may just be the beginning of your adventure. Courses like the Advanced Course will teach you to dive deeper into unfamiliar environments. You can even get specializations that will put you a step ahead of everyone else.
