Symi Dive Sites
Explore Symi’s underwater hidden gems with Blue Lagoon Divers, and enjoy a unique and unforgettable scuba diving experience! There are plenty of dive sites in Symi that are just waiting for you but not limited to: Nimos Caverns, Nimborio and Gyala, Nana Shipwreck, St. George, Xylo Island Reef, Turtle Beach and more. Don’t waste the exclusive opportunity to participate in some amazing diving!

Nimborio and Gyala
This is our primary training dive site, with calm conditions, clear water, plenty of fish, a sunken village dating back almost 3000 years ago, and ancient greek naval wreaks of a battle involving Spartan vessels.
Local Shipwreck
Originally a refugee boat bringing people over to Greece from Turkey. After spending a few years in the main harbor, the boat burned down and was dragged out of the harbor to its final resting place at about 20m under the sea surface. This dive site is great for divers looking to dive on their first ever shipwreck!

Nimos Caverns
Truly spectacular, with plenty of natural light and many accesses to the surface: during your immersion, you will explore unique underwater caverns and maybe meet some of the locals who call that breathtaking place home.
We sometimes see seals in the area!

Plati Island or Xyilo Island Barrier Reef
These boat trips are full of ancient broken ceramic amphoras, seagrass beds, large schools of fish, a stunning barrier reef that goes over 70m, and known for regular mild currents between the island of Symi and Nimos, this is an exclusive dive for more experienced divers. This stunning place is known for its 50/60m clear visibility under the sea surface and its outstanding flora and fauna.
On the way there, we often see dolphins in the high season.

German S-Boat (WW2 1944)
This German fast attack craft was sunk during the famous raid on Symi. Sunk by Allied forces special operations commandos, the vessel sank in two whole sections to a depth of 30m. Its a site with great history, marine life and visibility.
Turtle Beach
Turtle Beach offers the best chance to admire turtles in their own natural habitat. Loggerhead is a smaller specie compared to other turtles, and that’s why many of them are quite shy around people. The chance to see this kind of turtle is often higher at the beginning of the summer season.
The turtles here are often juveniles meaning they are quite shy. If we miss them during the dive, we have a very good chance to see them from the surface whilst snorkelling during the surface interval.

Explorations around the island…
Symi is still being explored around the island for undived locations in the search for WW2 wrecks, planes and other interesting underwater environments.
You too can join us in these explorations to discover long lost artefacts from WW2 and antiquity dating back over 4000 years.
…and the rest
Because we are still locating amazing dive sites, our list of places to see grows every year. We have sites along walls with
100+ meter drops, reefs, canyons and all kinds of wrecks and caverns.
